A woman who fled from police with her child in the car on Saturday afternoon has been transported to a hospital and likely will face charges.
Kansas City Police Captain Stacey Graves said Sunday that the department’s DUI section was following up on charges, but she had no other information to release.
According to local reports, police were alerted to a woman suspected of driving while intoxicated around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. When officers approached the woman in her car near 47th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, she would not roll down her window or communicate with police.
When she attempted to drive away, police broke the driver’s window. Later, the driver stopped and officers took her into custody. The child was uninjured.
