The Kansas Senate on Wednesday confirmed three state Board of Regents members appointed by Gov. Sam Brownback, including Ann Murguia of Kansas City, Kan.
The action mean that Murguia, Shane Bangerter of Dodge City and Helen Van Etten of Topeka can continue serving as regents overseeing the higher education system.

The votes were 35-5 for Bangerter and 37-3 for Van Etten and Murguia.
The Senate also confirmed Secretary of Administration Jim Clark and Securities Commissioner Josh Ney.
The votes were 40-0 for Clark and 37-2 for Ney.
