Firehouse Subs in Shawnee will host a fundraiser on Wednesday for the Treyvon Mays Memorial Fund.
Mays, who was 17, drowned earlier this month while swimming in a small lake near Johnson Drive and Widmer Road, according to police. He was a Shawnee Mission Northwest High School senior who lived in Shawnee.
The restaurant, at 6415 Quivira Road, will donate part of the day’s proceeds to the memorial fund.
The high school’s “Cougars Concerned for the Community” group will help with this event.
Donations are also being accepted at the Country Club Bank, 21911 W. 66th St. in Shawnee. Checks should be made payable to the “Treyvon Mays Memorial Fund.”
