Business briefs: Overland Park Regional appoints chief nursing officer

Chief nurse

Teresa Collins has been named chief nursing officer at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Collins, who has been in nursing for more than 25 years, previously was vice president of clinical operations at Swope Health Services. Prior to that, she was vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer at Truman Medical Center.

Legal manager

Emily Collins has joined Xact Data Discovery as a legal project manager. She previously was an attorney with Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice in Kansas City. Mission-based Xact provides discovery and data management services for law firms, corporations and government agencies.

Bioscience firm expands

Biova LLC, an Iowa-based bioscience firm, has opened an office in the Venture Accelerator at the Kansas Bioscience park, 10900 S. Clay Blair Blvd. in Olathe.

The privately held company based in Johnston, Iowa, said it is the market leader for water soluble egg membrane ingredients used in health-care related products. The Olathe office will manage product development and marketing. The company also has a manufacturing facility in Ames, Iowa

Fall homes tour

The Fall Parade of Homes, which features 307 homes by 84 builders across the Kansas City area, begins Saturday and runs through Oct. 12. The event, which is free, is presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City.
