Daniel Ostergaard, a family physician in Olathe, was honored by the American Academy of Family Physicians at its annual meeting recently in San Diego. Ostergaard received the Thomas W. Johnson Award for his contributions to family medicine education at the undergraduate, graduate and continuing education levels.
Ostergaard is curently chairman of the advisory board of the AAFP Center for International Health Initiatives, a program he founded in 2000.Workplace design
Spaces Inc., a Lenexa company that specializes in interior architecture and space planning, recently completed a redesign of the municipal building floor at Kansas City’s City Hall. The redesign included giving the space a more contemporary, yet classic, look with features such as an embedded television, an iPad and video camera. The Overland Park Rotary Club said it raised more than $109,000 to support area charities. The recipients included CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which advocates for the interest of children caught in the court system because of abuse and neglect; Ozanam, which provides behavior health care services to children and their families; and the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation’s Youth Leadership Institute, which offers a summer program for high school juniors and seniors from across the area. The Overland Park club has about 160 members.
