New law firm in Prairie Village; college scholarships for area students

New law firm

John Kennyhertz and Braden Perry have formed Kennyhertz Perry LLC, which focuses on business, litigation and government compliance. The firm is located at 7301 Mission Road in Prairie Village.

Tallgrass scholarships

Three high school seniors from Johnson County have received college scholarships from the Tallgrass Creek retirement community, where they have worked part-time for at least the past two years. The recipients are Sierra Witherspoon, of Blue Valley North High School; Anusha Imran, of Blue Valley High School; and Nika Sien, of Blue Valley North. The three will receive a combined $11,000 raised by the approximately 300 Tallgrass Creek residents over the past two months.

Monumental Life money

Three Johnson County college students were among seven statewide to be awarded $1,000 each for the 2013 fall semester from the Monumental Life Settlement African-American Scholarship program. The scholarship program is administered by the Kansas Insurance Department. The three students: Stephonn Alcom of Gardner, who attends the University of Kansas; Rashaun Herah of Overland Park, who attends Emporia State University; and Victoria Gordon of Overland Park, who attends Ottawa University.
