Nearly 1,000 SuperHeroes (and Super Dogs) ran in the Fourth Annual CASA SuperHero 5K Run/Walk held at Corporate Woods in Overland Park.
Children who took part in the fun run received bright red capes emblazoned with the CASA SuperHero logo. This was the first year that well-behaved dogs were invited to trot along in the race.
To date, CASA has raised more than $50,000, which will help the organization recruit and train more volunteers for the organization’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program
CASA volunteers, with the support of the agency’s staff, work to provide critical information to judges, helping them make the best possible decisions regarding where the children should live and what medical, therapeutic, and educational services they need. CASA’s goal this year is to serve a record 1,730 greater Kansas City children.
