The Mid-Plains League regular season championship belongs to the Midwest Athletics.
The A’s, 20-5, secured the league and Eastern Division titles with 10-0 and 14-4 victories over the Liberty Monarchs last weekend. On Tuesday, the A’s added a 9-0 win over the Sabetha (Kan.) Lobos.
In the first game against Liberty, the A’s took control with nine runs in the second inning, including a grand slam by Luke Knight. Tucker Perkins and Nate Vossman knocked in two runs apiece.
Brant Millerborg picked up the win, holding Liberty to three hits and a walk in the five-inning shutout.

The A’s will begin play for the Cowdin Cup Saturday with a game against the second-place finisher in the West Division. The Topeka Golden Giants led the Junction City (Kan.) Brigade by a half-game going into the end of the season.
Last season, the A’s were swept by Junction City in the three-game Cowdin Cup final.
