Park Hill South High School
Broadcast students recognized: The 2015-2016 “South Side Scoop” broadcast program is a national finalist for a Pacemaker award from the National Scholastic Press Association.
On the staff were senior Miranda Steczak; junior Madison Flynn; and graduates Jordan Bell, Ashton Dittmer, Tyler Espinosa, Kelly Green, Tyler Koch, Connor Locke, Ashley Pasley, Caleb Seymour, Kyle Sims and Nehal Sutariya.
The program is one of 12 finalists. The winner will be announced in November.

Yearbook award: The 2016 “South Paw” earned the rank of All-Missouri from the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association.
All-Missouri is the highest award a publication can receive at the state level.
Editors were Maddie Anderson, a senior, and Rilie Barnes, Alexa Bowman, Hannah Carlson, Jenna Engle, Tehya Eno, Abby Cogswell, Charlie McFarlane and Kyla Sims.

Liberty North High School
Summer camp honors: The Golden Girls dance team earned honors in competition at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
Team honors include first in Home Routine, a Superior Award for individual blue ribbons won, and a Full Out award for Team Routine.
Seniors Abbie Benner, Malorie Colby and Clarissa Lenger and junior Melanie Benner received All-American awards. Sophie Spurlock, a junior, won Drill Down Queen for the second year in a row. Malorie Colby also was invited to try out for the UDA staff.
Other team members are seniors Lindsey Downey and Lexi McCann; juniors Emily Dillman and Jordan McCue; sophomores Brooke Furness, Alaina Lee, Annalise Pinedo and Courtney Rowe; and freshmen Sophia Bax, Allyson Harris, Cara Nedeau, Kaylin Robinson, Alexa Spurlock and Shelby Whitley.
Coaches are Tiffany Cunningham and Samantha Lyons.
