On Aug. 1, nine children with their families came to Parkville City Hall to pick up their back-to-school supplies with cool backpacks.
“This effort has been a longtime coming project of mine to assist those in need to start off the school year like everyone else and to make their lives a bit easier,” said Kevin L. Chrisman, chief of police of the City of Parkville.
The project is funded by the Parkville Police Community Assistance Fund, which also supports the Parkville “Shop with a Cop” program in December each year.
“The start of the school year is an exciting time for these children and this is a small way for us to show our compassion and concern for the community we serve,” said Chrisman, adding that Sgt. Laura Shadid did a great job coordinated the effort.
