An art auction of works created for Parkville’s 3rd annual Parkville in Art Plein Air will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 at the National Golf Club of Kansas City.
The art was judged to be the best created during an eight-day period by more than 60 artists who traveled to Parkville from all over the United States.
More than 130 paintings in five different mediums were created and are on display at the Parkville Area Chamber office through Nov. 12. The artwork was judged by Debra Joy Groesser, president of the American Impressionist Society.
The top paintings will be sold at the auction; all other paintings are available for purchase at the chamber office.
“This year we doubled our artists,” said Marsha VanDever, executive director of the Chamber “Each year we see this growing. We had a higher caliber of artists which participated this year. So the quality of the artwork way surpasses the artwork we had in the past.”
Proceeds from the art sale and auction will go to the Chamber as well as Feed Northland Kids, the Chamber’s 2014 Charity of Choice.
The National Golf Club of Kansas City is at 6700 N. National Drive in Parkville.
