Meagan Gardner, a freshman, was chosen for the Youth Advocacy Award by the National PTA.
Meagan is being honored for an outstanding display of advocacy in an effort to prevent distracted driving. She worked with other students in Missouri to draft a resolution on distracted driving that was passed by the state and the national PTA.

French teacher Ron Scrogham was selected for lifetime honorary membership in Pi Delta Phi, an international honor society.
He was selected based on a record of strong support for French culture. The society was founded to recognize outstanding scholarship in French language and literature and to increase knowledge and appreciation for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world.Liberty North High School
Novice debaters earned top honors at the Park Hill High School debate tournament.
Charlie Roberts placed second and Dylan McCloskey third in Student Congress.
At a tournament in Springfield, the team placed third in overall sweepstakes among 41 schools.
Placing first were Raj Patel in Original Oratory and Dylan McCloskey in Student Congress. Emma Allman and Lauren VanNess placed second in duo interpretation and Emma placed third in humorous interpretation.
In the Novice Student Congress, Austin Casel placed first and in Novice Policy Debate, Dasia Caraballo and Cameron Deatherage placed second.
At the Blue Springs High School tournament, Marissa Cooper was the tournament champion in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
