Gladstone Rotary Club
Scholarship recipients: Five graduating seniors were awarded scholarships.
Recipients from Oak Park High School were Seth Argyle and Rachel Gibbs; from Staley High School, Anne Allgaier and Mitchell McDonald; and from Winnetonka, Ciara Wiegers.
The students each received $1,000 to help with college expenses. They were chosen based on academic excellence, leadership roles in their schools and essays about their plans for the future.
Argyle received the John Michael Memorial Scholarship, given in honor of a longtime member of the Gladstone Rotary Club.
The club awards scholarships annually to Northland graduating seniors and partners with area schools throughout the year in community and academic service projects.
Liberty School District
National qualifiers. Four Liberty students will advance to the National History Day Contest in June after placing first or second in state competition.
They are Miles Allain, who placed first in individual performance, from Liberty High School; Michaela Scarrow, second in individual documentary, Liberty North High School; Lauren Brookins, second in individual website, and Anna Praiswater, first in individual historical paper, both from Discovery Middle School.
They are among more than 500 Kansas City area students who participated in regional and state competition. The winners now compete at the University of Maryland in College Park.
Oak Park High School
Class of 1966: Students from the first class to graduates from Oak Park have been invited as guests at the graduation of the Class of 2015.
A social gathering for the 1966 graduates is planned for 4 p.m. on May 13 at the Trezo Mare restaurant located at 4105 N. Mulberry Drive in the Village at Briarcliff. At 7 p.m., they will join this year's graduates and walk in and be recognized during commencement in the Municipal Auditorium. For more information, call the school at 816-413-5300.
