Service recognized: Hannah Wood received awards for her performance and commitment to District 4 of the Future Business Leaders of America.
Hannah, who served as District 4 president for three years, received a Service Award at the district’s leadership conference earlier this month in Springfield, where she also placed first with Lauryn Masters in business financial plan and first in job interview.
Other students earning first-place medals were Masters in journalism; Drake Hansen, Malachi Ray and Noah Singer in banking and financial systems; Keji Jale, Ashlyn Koontz and Madison Powers in business plan; Devon Danner in cyber security; Wes Valentine, Ethan Ventress and Ramses Young in digital video production; Delaney Danner in principles and procedures; Holly Jacobson in introduction to parliarmentary procedure; Madison Dowlen in graphic design; and Christian Torchia in help desk; Ryan Dye, Cameron Scheib and Mason Shipley in introduction to business presentation; Madison Dowlen in publication design; Luke Hodson, Wes Valentine and Ethan Ventress in public service announcement; Grace Lewis, Sara Mosely and Hannah Richardson in social media campaign; Brittany Alvarado, Natalie Crain and Grace Hanson in sports and entertainment management; and Ryan Dye in word processing.

West Platte High School
Academic acchievers: Several members of the cross country team — Bella Clark, Lexi Elmore, Rachel Heili, Matik Heskin, Lea Moose, Sophia Rush, Coy Taylor and Katy Tharp — qualified for Academic All-Star status from the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To achieve the ranking, students needed to participate in a district level event and maintain a 3.6 grade-point average or a score of 25 on the ACT or a score of 1,125 on the SAT.
