Journalists excel: Students on the staffs of high school newspapers, yearbooks and broadcast media won top honors in the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association state competition.
From Park Hill South High School, Cienna Newett won seven All-Missouri awards for news magazine design and for infograhic and photo illustration.
Emma Beuerlein and Lieana Sherry won an All-Missouri rating for yearbook package. Ellie Knechtel and Joe Leluga won top honors for newspaper op-ed writing and Payton Havermann and Jacob Young for broadcast news feature.

Other All-Missouri winners were Cassidy Hedrick for broadcast sports feature, Samantha Oathout for sports action photo, Lisa Schellstede for yearbook module and Miranda Steczak for broadcast sports feature.
The yearbook, “South Paw Yearbook,” and the news magazine, “The View,” also received All-Missouri awards.
Winning top honors from Park Hill High School were Lydia Carter for yearbook diversity, Tate Cleveland for photography, Kyleigh Conkling for photography, Meghan Elley and Liam Henry for human interest feature, Liam Henry for sports feature story, Judiann McMahon for photography, Megan Monroe for newspaper/ news magazine info graphic and Delaney Noland for newspaper/news magazine op-ed.
The “Trojan TV News” staff and executive producer Kelley Collins won All-Missouri for overall broadcast.
