Religious intolerance has a long history going back before the Revolutionary War. Most colonies had official state religions with varying degrees of strictures against, prohibitions of and restrictions on non-approved denominations.
Folks got kicked out of the colony or moved out on their own to worship as they saw fit. “Separation of church and state” defends the practice of religions by keeping the government out of them. “Religious freedom” is the antithesis of attempting to impose one’s religious philosophies or beliefs on others by political means.
When “religious freedom” gets twisted into attempting to impose a particular belief on others, a sad thing has happened: a human being has attempted to speak the mind of God. Want to get Christian values in politics?
Read the parts of the New Testament printed in red before you vote.
After agreeing to a new “truce,” which is heavily weighted in their favor, the Arabs don’t even take a breath before blatantly and unashamedly announcing they will rearm so they can continue in their holy mission to kill Jews.
They can, of course, pursue this course because they know, from decades of proof, that the world will not object as they enjoy the overwhelming support of anti-Israel, anti-Jewish biases.
This is just another farcical step in their pursuit of “peace” and reconciliation. It is disheartening, to say the least.
GOP Trojan Horse
There is no doubt that it is the Republican Party's fault for the mess we are in (insert mess here).
I don't believe that, but it’s the only way I could get my name in the paper.
Nursing at pool
Kudos to the teenage lifeguard who asked the mom to at least cover herself at the Gladstone pool while nursing. I don't know if the lifeguard was male or female but in either case, I think the lifeguard was correct in simply asking the lady to have the decency to cover her private parts.
What if a man took off his trunks at the pool? Would the general public say sure go for it?
I think not. Just because a woman is nursing a baby does not make it OK for her to flash the rest of the public especially if the lifeguard was a young man.
In some circles her action would be considered pornography. Now that it appears to the public that nudity is acceptable at Gladstone pools maybe the local nudist colonies would like to make a trip to Gladstone where anything goes, baby.
