The Whole Person to honor supporters at Kansas City luncheon

The Whole Person, a Kansas City organization that assists people with disabilities, will recognize five supporters at a luncheon Aug. 26.

Being honored: Adam Lane, individual award; Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, corporate award; Jackson County Sports Complex Authority, civic leader award; Sally Firestone, Paul H. Levy Founders Award; and Finn Bullers, Lifetime Achievement Award. Bullers, who died in January, will be honored posthumously.

The keynote speaker will be Col. Greg Gadson, a career Army officer who lost both legs in an improvised explosive device blast in Iraq in 2007. Gadson remained on active duty.

The Whole Person is a nonprofit organization that provides a full range of community services for people with mental and physical disabilities. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Gallery Event Space, 61 E. 14th St. For more information, go to www.thewholeperson.org.
