A former Parkville woman was among three BNSF railroad employees killed Tuesday when two trains collided head-on in Texas.

An obituary for Lara Gayle Taylor, 45, appeared Sunday in The Kansas City Star.

Taylor was killed in the crash near Panhandle, Texas, about 40 miles northeast of Amarillo. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

According to the obituary, Taylor was born in North Kansas City and was a 1988 graduate of Park Hill High School. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harmony Vineyard Church, 600 N.E. 46th St. in Kansas City. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
