Lee’s Summit schools name deputy superintendent

Brent Blevins has been named the Lee’s Summit School District’s deputy superintendent for operations for the 2014-15 school year.

Blevins has been superintendent in Forsyth since 2007 and has been a Missouri educator since 1996. Before becoming superintendent, he worked in the Forsyth district as an assistant superintendent, assistant principal and teacher.

He began his teaching career as a social studies teacher and coach at the Spokane School District, becoming a physical education teacher and coach for the Ava School District before beginning at Forsyth in 1999.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the College of the Ozarks and his master’s degree, specialist degree and doctorate in educational administration from Lindenwood University. He has been active in his local community and in regional and state education organizations.

In 2012, he was named the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.
