It’s that most wonderful time of the year and we’re seeking fun designs to bring holiday cheer!
The Star’s FYI section is holding a wrapping paper design contest for kids 12 and younger.
We’d like to see designs with a holiday theme. There will be two winners, and if we choose yours, it will be turned into a sheet of newsprint “wrapping paper” for anyone to use.
•How to draw:
The original drawing should work well if reduced to business card size (so it can be reproduced in repeating patterns).
Submit the design (original artwork only) on an 81/2-by-11-inch piece of unlined paper, with the child’s name, age and city and parent’s phone number and email address on the back.
•Who can enter:
Children 12 and younger. Only one entry per child, please. We’ll choose winners in two categories: ages 6 and younger, and ages 7 to 12.
•How to submit:
Mail the designs to FYI Wrapping Paper Contest, The Kansas City Star, 1729 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108.
Email entries with a high-quality scanned image can be sent firstname.lastname@example.org
. Put “FYI Wrapping Paper Contest” in the subject line. Include the child’s information in the body of the email.
Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Dec. 16. We’ll publish the winners in the FYI section before Christmas.
Entries cannot be returned, so remember to make your own copy before mailing it. Happy drawing!
