There is no connection between two bodies discovered in De Soto on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, the Johnson County sheriff’s office said.
Deputies reported that the body of a man in his 20s was found about 8 a.m. Wednesday outside an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Ottawa Street.
On Tuesday afternoon, a body was discovered in the 9500 block of Sunflower Road.
The locations are about 2.5 miles apart. The sheriff’s office has not released any details about the age or gender of the person found Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office has not said if either case is connected to the disappearance of an Olathe man, 22-year-old Brad Cook, whose motorcycle was found in De Soto on Oct. 21. The clothing with the body found Tuesday matched the description of what Cook was wearing, a family friend has said.
Deputies are investigating both cases as unattended deaths, according to a sheriff’s office spokesman.
