Guilty plea in dogfighting case that stretched from Kansas City to Texas

A Texas man pleaded guilty in Kansas federal court Monday to hosting a dog fight at his home.

Vertrick Jordan, 47, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to move animals across state lines for dog fighting. Jordan admitted that he worked with Pete Davis of Kansas City and Melvin Robinson of Kansas City, Kan., to hold a dog fight at his home in Tyler, Texas, on March 23. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

Earlier this month, a judge sentenced Davis to 16 months and Robinson to 10 months in prison.
