A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the May 2011 shooting death of another man.
Umar Muhammad, 32, was sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court where a jury found him guilty in August of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing of 25-year-old Mohamed Hussein.

Another person was injured in the same incident near Independence Avenue and Brooklyn Avenue, and Muhammad was also convicted of assault and armed criminal action for that shooting.
