Kansas City police were investigating a fatal shooting which happened early Sunday morning.
Police said they received a call at about 5 a.m., regarding the sound of gunshots at a residence in the 300 block of Belmont. When they arrived, officers found a victim, a black man about 30 years old, dead on the front porch.
Officers saw a vehicle flee the scene at a high rate of speed and pursued it to 24th Street and Indiana Avenue, where a man was taken in to custody. According to police spokesman Darin Snapp, several witnesses are being interviewed who said the residence is a known party house. But the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
