Eminem goes ‘Berzerk’ with new single (poll)

Oh they know what his name is.

And Eminem fans on Monday proclaimed that Shady is back after hearing “Berzerk,” the lead single off his new album coming in November.

Fans took to Twitter late Monday night to talk about it, many calling the sound old-school.

Wrote one fan: “Like I've said before, Eminem is like a sniper, he disappears for awhile and comes out of nowhere with a new song and blows us away.”

Others were slower with the praise. “...dunno if I like it honestly,” tweeted one fan.

The singer teased the song in a Beats by Dre commercial shown during Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The guitar-heavy track was produced by Rick Rubin, who worked with the Beastie Boys.

(Listen for an unfortunately timed reference to “the ugly Kardashian,” Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe.)

Billboard calls it "a punchy, guitar-and-beats driven song which channels Joan Jett the Blackhearts’ 'I Love Rock ‘n Roll' and 'Licensed to Ill'-era Beastie Boys."

Rubin and Dr. Dre co-produced the forthcoming album, “MMLP2,” which debuts Nov. 5. It will be Eminem’s first album since his Grammy winning “Recovery” in 2010.
