And you can expect the hot weather to hang around all weekend and through next week, according to the National Weather Service. Highs over the next few days are forecast to reach the lower- to mid-90s.
It will feel even hotter because humidity will rise along with the temperature, probably driving heat indices into the upper 90s to 100 degrees both Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
Little or no precipitation is expected across the majority of the area. Rainfall projections through the end of the month are not good.
