A federal grand jury charged a Blue Springs man with obstructing justice, producing child obscenity and possessing and producing child pornography.
The six-count indictment alleges that Jeffrey Laurence Treta, 46, used a girl to produce child porn on Jan 19 and Jan. 29.
Treta also purportedly used two other girls to produce legally obscene material between May 1, 2012, and Jan. 29.
In child pornography, images depict a child actually engaged in sexual conduct, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. In child obscenity, a child who was not directly victimized would appear to be engaged in sexually explicit conduct, such as if someone superimposed the child’s face onto another image, prosecutors said.
