Olathe and Overland Park police made a total of nine arrests for driving under the influence during special enforcement exercises Friday night.
Olathe conducted a sobriety checkpoint on eastbound Santa Fe Street at Lindenwood Drive. Officers stopped 605 vehicles from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. and made eight arrests for DUI. They also made three arrests for open containers of alcohol, three for drugs and three for outstanding warrants. They issued 16 citations for driver’s license violations.

Overland Park police conducted a saturation patrol, stopping 15 vehicles from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Officers made one arrest for DUI and issued citations for 10 other violations.
