James initially was granted diversion in the case. That was revoked after a 2011 incident in Kansas City. He was sentenced to 180 days but placed on probation. An incident last year in Kansas City, Kan., prompted Johnson County prosecutors to seek to revoke his probation.
He was jailed in March for probation violations of consuming alcohol and not submitting to a urinalysis. He was placed on work-release. He was arrested again in June for failure to comply, and he posted $2,500 bond.
James’ next court date is Nov. 20.
