A 42-year-old woman was robbed and stabbed by two women she knew early Friday in Kansas City, police said.
The knife plunged 6 inches into the woman’s abdomen but didn’t hit any major organs, police said. The wound required two staples to close. She also suffered a defensive wound to her left pinkie that required seven stitches, and she suffered a fractured cheekbone, police said.
The incident began about 12:55 a.m. at 38th Street and Prospect Avenue. The victim said she was walking north when a woman accosted her and accused her of sleeping with her husband.
During the argument, the woman punched the victim several times in the face.
The victim said she pushed the woman away to protect herself, then a friend of the woman got angry and stabbed the victim on her right side. The woman with the knife then grabbed her purse and both attackers ran away.
The victim walked to 37th Street and Wabash Avenue, where she met an ambulance.
