Kansas City police on Thursday identified a man shot to death inside his home early Wednesday as Daron O. Hayden, 25.
His brother returned to the home they shared in the 9100 block of Tennessee Avenue about 2:40 a.m. and found Hayden dead. He called his father and then police.
Hayden and his brother had moved into the home about a year ago, police said, after inheriting it from their mother. Police do not believe Hayden was killed a a home burglary or random crime. But investigators said they do not have any suspect or motive information to release.
Jackson County prosecutors last year charged Hayden with felony resisting arrest after he allegedly led police on a high speed chase. His trial was scheduled for next month.
