Two 14-year-olds visiting a friend’s Northland home were robbed by a male with a pellet gun in an apparent set-up Sunday night, Kansas City police said.
The gunman shot one teenager several times with the pellet gun in the 5:50 p.m. crime in the 8500 block of N. Rhode Avenue, near Barry Road and NW Congress.
The victims, a boy and a girl, told police they were going to the home to visit one of the boy’s friends. Once they arrived, the friend left out of the back door and an unknown male walked in with the pellet gun. The gunman stole the girl’s phone and shot the boy before fleeing out the back door.
The victim went to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not life-threatening, police said.
