A gunshot victim who had been seeking help died on the porch of a Northeast Kansas City house Monday morning.
Police responded about 2 a.m. to a call about shots being fired in the 100 block of North Drury Avenue.
While they were on the way, police received a call from residents of a house in the same block saying that they woke to someone knocking on their door asking for help, said Capt. Tye Grant, a police spokesman.
The residents didn’t answer the door. When officers arrived, they found the shooting victim’s body on the porch.
Police were trying to determine the exact location of the shooting, Grant said.
There was no suspect information. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
