Overnight storms give way to great weekend

Now that the storms have moved through, get ready for a spectacular weekend.

Friday’s temperatures are expected to return to near average as the skies clear. Highs are expected to reach in the middle to upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.

The rest of the weekend will be quite comfortable with temperatures slightly below average.

Highs Saturday will be in the middle 70s to lower 80s while Sunday through Tuesday are expected to be slightly cooler, with highs in the middle 70s to 80 degrees.

There’s a low chance of precipitation this weekend with the best chance of rain coming Saturday afternoon. However any thunderstorms that do form would be widely scattered, according to the National Weather Service.

For the July 4th Holiday, highs are expected to be in the middle 80s with a slight chance of rain in the afternoon.

As for the multiple rounds of storms that swept across the Kansas City area Thursday, the amount of precipitation left behind varying widely on location.
