By Robert A. Cronkleton | The Kansas City StarSeveral downtown Kansas City streets are closed for the Skills USA national championship that is being held at Bartle Hall this week. About 6,000 high school and post-secondary students from around the country are competing in the 49th annual National SkillsUSA championship. On Tuesday, the SkillsUSA Champions Night at the Power & Light will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Opening ceremonies will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the majority of the competitions begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in Bartle Hall and Municipal Auditorium.
