At least one person injured in three-vehicle KC crash involving stolen minivan

At least one person was injured Monday morning when the driver of a stolen minivan crashed into two other vehicles in Kansas City.

Police had tried to pull the minivan over for an unrelated traffic violation shortly before the crash. The driver, however, refused to stop. The officer disregarded the violation and did not pursue the minivan, said Sgt. Marisa Barnes, a spokeswoman for Kansas City police.

The minivan, however, crashed into two other vehicles shortly before 8 a.m. at East 63rd Street and South Benton Avenue. While investigating the crash, police discovered the minivan had been stolen.

The extent of injuries was not available.
