Kansas City’s Children’s Fountain north of the Missouri River features sculptures of six children frolicking in the spray.
But right now the spray is off.
The fountain, at North Oak Trafficway and 32nd Street, was struck by lightning during a strong weekend storm, melting the fuses and burning up the pump.
Kansas City park maintenance workers hope to have it fixed soon. Parks superintendent Forest Decker said workers are trying to repair or replace the pump within a few days.
