The body discovered in a river in Henry County, Mo., on Wednesday evening has been identified as a rural Kingsville, Mo., man who died of a gunshot wound.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Department said the body of 29-year-old Justin Michael Emmerton was discovered by a fisherman in the Grand River between Urich and Hartwell.
The Missouri Highway Patrol made the identification Thursday through a fingerprint match. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office determined Friday that Emmerton was killed by a gunshot wound.
The Rural Missouri Major Case Squad is working the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 660-885-7315.
