Lightning blamed for Olathe house fire

Investigators believe that a lightning strike started an Olathe house fire Wednesday morning.

Officials said the fire started in an attic space above the garage. No one was home at the time. Firefighters rescued two dogs from the smoke-filled structure.

Damage to the home was described as “significant.”
