Kansas City Council members approved an ethics code Thursday that sets new limits on gifts that they and other city employees can receive.
Officials would have to disclose all gifts, meals and free travel worth more than $200, accept none worth more than $1,000, then file a report every three months. Previously the reporting requirement was $200, but there was no limit on gifts. Reports were due once a year.
