Man charged with KC slaying over stolen gun

A Kansas City man was charged Tuesday with shooting another man to death in a fight over a stolen gun.

Antoine Laron Clark, 31, was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing Sunday of James Ward in the 8300 block of Prospect Avenue.

According to court documents, witnesses said there was an argument over a gun allegedly stolen by Ward. One witness said Ward punched Clark in the stomach before Clark pulled out a gun and shot him numerous times, according to the court document.

Clark fled after the shooting and was arrested later in Overland Park.
