Truck driver dies in KCK crash that closes ramps at I-435 and I-70

A Kansas City truck driver was killed Tuesday morning when his semi-trailer overturned on a curve and he was thrown from the vehicle.

The victim was identified by the Kansas Highway Patrol as 45-year-old William R. Bass.

The crash occurred about 8:35 a.m. on the entrance ramp from northbound Interstate 435 to eastbound Interstate 70 in western Kansas City, Kan.

Bass, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pinned under the vehicle’s cab after he was ejected, according to the highway patrol report.
