Police standoff in east KC is over

A standoff between Kansas City police and an armed suspect inside a house ended peacefully Wednesday night.

Police were called to 30th Street and Farley Avenue about 5:30 p.m. on a report that a man shot at the vehicle of another man who had intervened in a dispute. Police surrounded the house and the man surrendered about 7:15 p.m. Police remained on the scene for more than an hour longer, however, because it was unclear if other suspects were in the house.
