Missouri man goes to trial in kidnapping, homophobic abuse of teens

Trial is under way this week for one of three men accused of the homophobic kidnapping and abuse of two teenagers in St. Louis County.

KMOX Radio reports that Walter Worthan and two others are accused of taping the teens to chairs, beating them, burning them with cigarettes and forcing them to wear women's clothing, among other crimes. Investigators say the suspects posted videos and pictures of the acts on Facebook.

Police say the crime happened in October 2011 at Worthan's home in Northwoods.

He is charged with two counts each of felony kidnapping, sexual exploitation of a minor, felonious restraint and misdemeanor assault.
