A Kansas City, Mo., vintage airplane enthusiast celebrated his 102nd birthday by taking a short flight in a plane he owned years ago.
KCTV reports Dick Schauble is a former pilot and the oldest member of the local Vintage Aircraft Association. On Saturday members of VAA Chapter 16 gathered at Gardner Municipal Airport in Kansas to give him a special flight.
Schauble took a ride in the same plane on his 100th birthday when the buyer brought the plane to Gardner especially for the occasion. Schauble owned the plane years ago when he taught at an aircraft mechanics school.
His flight Saturday lasted only about 15 minutes. About half of the aircraft association's 40 members turned out for the event.
