An standoff at a midtown Kansas City apartment ended after a man surrendered to police early Tuesday.
Police responded to a disturbance about 2 a.m. at an apartment in the 3400 block of Holmes Street.
Witnesses told police the disturbance involved a man and a woman and that the man might be armed.
Both people were inside and police couldn’t tell whether the woman was free to leave.
Police initiated a tactical response, called an Operation 100, believing they had an armed person barricaded inside.
Some residents of adjacent apartments were evacuated.
The man left the apartment about 4:30 a.m. and was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
