Auto parts plant for Riverside to be announced

An auto supply company is expected to announce at 10 a.m. Friday that it will make a substantial investment in Riverside.

No other details were released about what will be the latest example of the auto industry’s contributions to the local economy.

Earlier this month a Michigan company, Adrian Steel, announced a new $4.7 million manufacturing and logistics center at Hunt Midwest Business Center. That center will employ 39 people making and installing interiors for the new Transit commercial van at Ford’s Claycomo plant.

Ford last year completed a $1.1 billion parts stamping plant at Claycomo, and General Motors in January announced $600 million in upgrades for its Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City, Kan.
