According to witnesses and video surveillance, a man fired a black handgun once at Shalonda, 16, as she left the store at 3201 E. 51st St. just before 3 p.m. April 4. Shalonda ran back to the store and collapsed into a doorway.
Witnesses told police that Shalonda had been threatened by someone they knew as “Quan-Quan” on Facebook, according to court records. Police identified Hawkins from his Facebook profile and found another witness who said Hawkins was at the store before the shooting.
