Police are talking to the mother of a toddler who was found wandering the streets of a Kansas City neighborhood shoeless.
The boy, believed to be 2 or 3 years old, was found about 4 a.m. near East 40th Street and Highland Avenue.
Police searched the area but couldn’t find the child’s home. The boy was unable to provide his name.
Policed released photos of the boy hoping someone would recognize him. Family members saw the photos and contacted police.
Police are looking into how the boy was able to get out on his own.
Until the boy’s family was found, he was being cared for by the Missouri Division of Family Services. He is in good health.
