Kansas City police have released the person who allegedly shot a man during a confrontation Wednesday at the Blue Valley Townhomes.
Jackson County prosecutors declined to file charges but asked detectives to gather more information.
The alleged shooter surrendered to police Thursday afternoon in connection with the death of Cordney C. Miller, 27, in a parking lot near 23rd Street and Wheeling Avenue.
Miller had intervened in an argument between his niece and her boyfriend. Miller and the boyfriend each had a gun, and police are trying to determine which one pulled his weapon first.
